Traumatic Brain Injury
Psychotherapy for Individuals with a Brain Injury and Their Families
Following a brain injury, many aspects of life can change. A person may experience both biological changes and shifts in living circumstances that impact mental health and emotional well-being. People who never experienced anxiety or depression before their brain injury often need additional emotional support afterwards. I treat individuals struggling with:
- Identity post injury-"who am I now?"
- Grief and Loss
- Relationship difficulties
I also help families cope with changes and provide education and support so that they can give their loved ones the best care possible.
My Background with Brain Injury
I am a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and have worked with the Colorado Brain Injury program for the last 5 years, where I facilitate two psychotherapy groups for traumatic brain injury funded through grants. Additionally, I provide community trainings to educate other professionals, students, brain injury survivors and families about the impact of brain injury and best practices.
